It usually takes her [Lea] a lot longer to get ready, so while she was getting ready I was watching the hockey game,” Monteith said. “And Lea’s dress? It’s stunning. I am the luckiest man!
During prep time, she noshed on whole wheat toast and giggled while trading texts with costar turned boyfriend Cory Monteith.
Except Rachel turns David Guetta and Usher’s dance hit into a power ballad and it – wait for it – totally works to the point where the Glee version manages the Season Three Rare Feat of crafting a cover to rival the original.
It was always there. Right when we started the show, that’s very much the way it was and I never had trouble acting in scenes with Lea, she just gives so much. She really does. In front of the camera, she gives a lot to me opposite her. So that was always there. And then three years later, we just have so much to draw from, there’s so many episodes, there’s so many experiences between these characters, there’s so much backstory now, which is kind of the brilliant thing about television. There’s so much to draw on. It just builds a level of trust. I really feel like I can go anywhere I need to go. Specifically for that proposal scene, I could get a little mushy and just play it really natural with Finn, especially with Rachel.
Lea is one of my best friends and we’ve been doing this for so long. These characters are such a big part of our lives. These characters absolutely changed our lives. So to have it cumulate into that one moment is very powerful for both of us. We both got like chills. It was really weird. After he said Cut, we both were getting like hot flashes. It was really weird man. For some part of my little psyche, it was actually happening.
Finn and Rachel are “in it to win it
We talked about it and we were both so happy. I’m just enjoying working with Cory. I feel like we’ve grown so much together as actors working together. I’m just really grateful because he’s such a pleasure to work with.
YOU’RE NOT CORY MONTEITH, THIS IS WEIRD.
I think I would like them to make up their minds. I’m very confused. One night she’s making out with this person, and then she’s making out with that person… I’m very happy that they’re together. I love not only Rachel and Finn, but I love working with Cory [Monteith], so much so that I’d like them to stay together if they’re going to stay together. I don’t know what’s going to happen though… But I think the decision maker is going to be whether or not he, when she graduates from high school, follows her or doesn’t follow her.
Well, Lea was constantly just sitting on the stage with her legs spread apart the whole time. She looked tired. At one point everyone was on their mark and Lea was still sitting Indian style in the middle of the stage. Cory had to help her up.
